NUTTYCOMBE INVITATIONAL
Madison, Wisc. - The Washington State men's and women's cross country teams wrapped up their races at the Nuttycombe Invitational in Madison, Wisconsin on Friday, October 15.
WOMEN'S RECAP
Nemma Kimtai was the top performer for the WSU women, as the freshman clocked in a time of 21:10.4. The Kenyan native placed 80th out of 267 runners in the women's 6,000m race. Kimtai also led the Cougs with an average mile time of 5:40.7.
WSU WOMEN
The Washington State women s program, currently ranked 12th in the west region, totaled 256 points in this event, placing ninth overall as a team.
WSU was led on the day once again by freshman
Neema Kimtai who posted a 26th place finish overall with a time of 20:30.1. Kimtai was followed by teammate Erin Mullins in 36th place overall, recording a time of 20:44.8 at the Craig Ranch Regional Park. Zorana Grujic and Jelena Grujic were next across the finish line for Washington State, as Zorana recorded a time of 21:25.0 (68th) and Jelena finished just behind her sister at 21:31.0.
Rounding out the remainder of the field for Washington State was Caroline Jerotich with a time of 21:41.9 (79th), Alaina Stone Boggs at 21:42.3 (80th), Pia Richards at 22:29.4 (94th), Samantha Boyle clocking a time of 22:50.6 (98th), and finally Kerstin Ly at 22:55.9 (99th) on the day at Texas Tech.
