Several governors are expressing their outrage over a lack of clear directives from the president s clear actions aimed at providing coronavirus relief. Most notably, the leaders have taken issue with states being responsible for 25 of the administrations unemployment measure as tax revenues plummet and costs continue to increase. Democratic Governor Andrew Cuomo estimates it would cost his state 4 billion. Governor mark dewine says he has no plan to do as trumps order demands. Theyre calling for a cohesive nation all strategy to address the economic fallout. In a joint statement the group chaired by Governor Cuomo and vicechaired by the governor of arkansas called on the white house, two with congress to, quote, come up with a workable solution. BERLIN TOWNSHIP A premier high school basketball event in the country, Classic in the Country has taken a major hit this year. But Classic coordinators are pleased to be able to continue to play the games, even if it is a scaled down event.
Classic in the Country is preparing for its 18th annual showcase Jan. 16-18, over the Martin Luther King Holiday weekend, featuring 20 games. Since the inaugural event in 2004, more than 1,000 college coaches and 300,000 fans have descended upon the Perry Reese Jr. Community Center at Hiland High School to see a collection of some of the best high school girls basketball players in the country go at it in an atmosphere that celebrates competition and diversity.
