Lusail drive-through vaccine facility sees a huge turnout

Doha: The Drive-through Vaccination Centre in Lusail witnessing a big turnout especially by women.
Also there is an ambulance team in case of any emergency cases, said Medical Director of Hamad General Hospital, Dr Yousef Al Maslamani.
Al Maslamani noted that providing privacy for women is one of the principles of medical care in Qatar, including for vaccination services inside their vehicles.”
Speaking to Qatar Radio, he said that the goals achieved by the Vaccination Center in Lusail are to provide a fast and safe service for the public so that they can take the vaccination and return home easily. ....

Doha: In recent weeks, the number of COVID-19 positive cases among travellers has been low compared to those reported from the community.
In the past few days, about 10 percent of the cases were from returning travellers, and a very effective system is in place to prevent the risk of infection spreading from travelers, said Medical Director of Communicable Disease Center, Dr. Muna Al Maslamani.
“The COVID-19 continues to pose a real threat to the health of people in Qatar and it is imperative that people follow all preventive measures to reduce the risk of infection. The strict and increasing compliance with strategies to mitigate public health impacts, such as vaccination, physical distancing, and use of masks, hand hygiene, isolation and quarantine is essential to curb the spread of the virus that causes COVID-19 and protect public health,” Dr. Al Maslamani t ....

First lung transplant in Qatar within weeks

Doha: The Hamad Medical Corporation s organ transplant programme which has shown 100 percent success rate in kidney transplant over five years is set to expand and begin lung and pancreas transplants soon.
Preparations are underway to perform the first lung transplantation in Qatar within weeks, said Medical Director of Hamad General Hospital and Director of Qatar Center for Organ Transplantation, Dr. Yousef Al Maslamani, indicating that a heart transplant plan will start soon.
Soon we will start the lung transplant programme, everything is ready. In about few weeks, we will probably perform the first lung transplant, said Dr. Al Maslamani, speaking in Al Jazeera Mubasher s Ma Al Hakim (With Doctor) programme. ....
