in the stabbing that happened outside a popular restaurant just as the fireworks ended. police and city officials doing what they can to reassure the public that the inner harbor is saf . him didn t have to happen. somebody has to have cooler heads. reporter: police say there were nearly 600 city, state, police stationed around the harbor. john barnes and his family came to see the fireworks for their first time. they were near the scene of the stabbing. they were visible but not unreasonable given the size of the crowd. reporter: someone near the scene took this photograph of a person of interest in the stabbing investigation. they hope somebody can identity who it is and call police. a short time later several blocks away a bullet struck a 4- year-old boy, who was walking with his father. he and his fiance say they heard a pop, a popping sound and that the the child cried out. this is not the way any of us wanted the long weekend to end. reporter: the ....
