just a few hours before that fire got going. nbc s sarah dallof joins us right now. what do we know about what they are saying how this fire started. reporter: good morning, richard. a few minutes ago i talked to the county fire chief who describes this investigation is still ongoing. we saw them take dogs inside the church a few minutes ago. thoz hot spots are cold enough to do it. they brought in a ladder truck to get an aerial view. to make a decision whether this was caused by nature or arson. this morning local and federal agencies are investigating the cause of a fire tuesday night. mt. zion african methodist ee episcopal church. it s too soon to determine what caused the fire citing storms and litdening strikes in the area. it s hard to say who may have come through here or what the cause was. we had problems here before so it really didn t go away. it s still here. reporter: the blaze comes amid a rash of fires that erupted at black churches all across the south
