The family of a white grandmother allegedly stabbed to death by a South Sudanese boy has joined forces with the local African community to demand calm as racial tensions erupt.
South Sudanese Community Association of Queensland (SSCAQ) President Peter Garang Kooch said there has been a spike in aggression levelled at members of his community.
Vyleen White, 70, was allegedly stabbed to death in front of her six-year-old granddaughter at Redbank Plains Town Square, in south-east Brisbane, at 6.10pm on Saturday.
