With no work to do, no savings due to hand-to-mouth existence and an abrupt end to daily income, these people are often found near bus stands, hospitals and also bus shelters where they sleep over in cold nights. From providing free meals, ration to home isolated families, arranging plasma to hospital bed coordination, they are now working tirelessly to help people. Their service is now winning the hearts of city residents. Since Friday night, after the weekend curfew was enforced, Rajendra HR and MK Shwetha couple of Akshaya Aahara Foundation are engaged in distributing food to the needy at their food collection centre near KR Hospital and at other parts of the city. Every day they are providing food to around 2,000 persons who can’t pay for the food. ....
