Does fiber-deprived Akkermansia worsen food allergy?

In a recent study, researchers from the Luxembourg Institute of Health suggested that Akkermansia muciniphila a bacterium found in the mucus layer of the human intestinal tract exacerbates food allergies when the gut microbiota of germ-free lab mice is deprived of dietary fiber. The Dutch microbiologist who discovered Akkermansia, however, says it is too much of a stretch to extrapolate these findings to other models.
