Dimapur, Sep. 8 (EMN): The deputy commissioner of Peren, Vineet Kumar, launched the ‘Enriching every child’ project initiated by Childline 1098 Peren at his office’s conference hall on September 7. Speaking at the launching programme, the DC expressed hope that the project would help in changing the lives of many marginalised children and also improve accessibility and ensure quality education for underprivileged children, a DIPR report stated. Kumar also appealed to the team to maintain transparency while managing the donations received from various groups or individuals. The centre coordinator, Ibamsile Dwaswang, said the overall aim of the project was to support children belonging to the marginalised section under Jalukie and Ahthibung blocks. The project also aimed at building connections within communities and lifts others through the simple act of kindness in the form of charitable donations in cash or kind for the children. Our CorrespondentKohima, July 16 (EMN): The Sunday School department of Rongmei Baptist Church in Kohima (RBCK) celebrated its golden jubilee anniversary at the church premises on July 16 on the theme ‘His legacy, His reward’ (Psalm 127:3). Speaking on the theme, Akeina Gonmei, RBCAN development secretary, recounted the legacy of God lived by Abraham and how he was blessed for generations. She emphasised that one should also bring up children to live Christ’s legacy to impact the world. The event began with praise and worship led by the music committee, followed with unveiling of jubilee plaque by Rev. Namrong Pamei, pastor of ERBC. Meingandai Gangmei, pastor of DRBC, and Jenthailung Kamei, pastor of RBCK, invoked God’s blessings upon the gathering.
