Be it Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Indonesia, Egypt, Iran, Oman, Singapore, South Africa, Ghana or Morocco the story is the same – there is an astronomical and improportionate increase in the Hajj 2023 fare compared to what pilgrims from these countries paid during the 2022 Hajj.
Saudi Arabia has restored the pilgrims’ quota for Hajj 2023 to pre-Pandemic level. But, the increased Haj package cost and price has dampened the sprit and enthusiasm of those planning to travel to Makkah for the annual pilgrimage.
In a strong rebuttal Sunday, the Haj Committee of India (HCoI) called misleading and frivolous some information related to Hajj 2023 being spread on WhatsApp and other social media platforms.
