Group Laments Reign Of Terror , Political Violence, Killings In Lagos Community, Ajegunle

Some residents of Ajegunle community in Lagos State under the aegis of Ajegunle Peoples' Movement (APM) have raised the alarm over the insecurity situation in their area.    This is contained in a press statement released by Moshood Oshunfurewa, the group's coordinator, who urged the state government and the Nigeria Police Force to protect lives and property in the community.    The statement also lamented how political violence has killed many innocent youths and disrupted economic activities in the area.

The Ajegunle People's Movement (APM), a community campaign organisation of the Democratic Socialist Movement (DSM), has demanded for open and democratic probe of Ajeromi - Ifelodun Local Area, 2022 budget performance. The group also demanded for a public hearing/scrutiny of the 2022 budget, with elected representatives from each street, market, trade union, trade group, professional body and civil society organization.

Residents of Ajegunle under the platform of Ajegunle People's Movement in Ajeromi-Ifelodun local government area of Lagos State, Southwest Nigeria have demanded the immediate and unconstitutional release of their coordinator, Moshood Oshunfurewa and nine others arrested by the police for protesting against crazy billing system of Eko Electricity Distribution Company. The residents who took to the streets on Wednesday, to protest against the continued detention of APM coordinator at Tolu Police station in Ajegunle, insisted that "protest is a right."
