good morning and welcome to cnn this morning, it is sunday, march 10. them, isabel rosales and grammar walker. i m victor blackwell. thank you so much for joining us this morning. we re following breaking news out of haiti. the state department says it s evacuating non-essential personnel from the us embassy because of heightened gang violence. cnn s patrick oppmann is joining us live from the phone. patrick, when did this start? so overnight last night, we know a us military helicopter did travel under the cover of darkness to port-au-prince, haiti and evacuated. we don t know how many, but us diplomats were told only us diplomats were evacuated from from the embassy because the ongoing civil unrest in haiti, gang violence that is essentially brought that country to a standstill, has made it too dangerous to have the embassy fully staffed. so they re not closing the us embassy in port-au-prince, certainly. but they are reducing the footprint that number of spat ....
