The Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) has been granted the status of a deemed university, allowing it to award degrees. The declaration extends to IIMC s regional campuses in Jammu, Amravati, Aizawl, Kottayam, and Dhenkanal. With this new status, IIMC can offer doctoral degrees. It is also the training academy for Indian Information Service officers. The UGC declared IIMC as a Deemed to be University, and the institute expressed its commitment to promoting education, training, and research in mass communication.
