RAWALPINDI: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) Chief Executive Officer Air Marshal Arshad Malik reached Kabul on Tuesday on a one-day official visit.
The PIA CEO requested Afghanistan’s Civil Aviation Authority to allow increase in the airline’s flights to Kabul and approve its flights from Kandahar and Mazar-i-Sharif to further strengthen ties between the two countries.
A PIA spokesman said that during the visit, the CEO met Dr Qasim Wafizada, chief of Afghan CAA, other officials of the authority and representatives of trade associations. ....

KARACHI: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and Hashoo Group would jointly promote domestic tourism in Pakistan, a statement said on Saturday.
PIA CEO Air Marshal Arshad Malik inaugurated the newly-established counter by PIA and destinations of the world, Hashoo Group at PIA booking office Karachi, it added.
The PIA CEO was presented with Sindhi Ajrak and a cap by PIA District Manager Faisal Kharal. Tariq Bin Yousuf, general manager of Destinations of the World - Pakistan(DOTW), senior officials of PIA & DOTW were also present on the occasion.
A special counter has been set up at the PIA booking office Karachi where passengers can now book their tickets and also avail instant hotel booking and packages. ....

Islamabad [Pakistan], January 1 (ANI): With Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) implementing its decision to cut the existing workforce by half and shift the head office of the national carrier from Karachi to Islamabad by January end but the current and former officials view the entire development as a move to sack the maximum number of staffers particularly those living in Sindh and Balochistan.
