Keren Rowland: Family of strangled Canberra woman are no nearer to answers 50 years on

Keren Rowland was five months pregnant and dearly looking forward to being a mother when she went missing on the evening of February 26, 1971.
Nearly three months later the 20-year-old s body was found discarded in a pine plantation, covered with pine needles, close to the Air Disaster Memorial in Canberra on 13 May.
Police believe Keren was dragged to her final resting place as her possessions were located in a relatively straight line from a track towards her body. Her arms were still above her head when her body was found.
While an official cause of death has not been established, fractures to Keren s hyoid bone are consistent with strangulation, ACT Police said. ....

Backpacker killer Ivan Milat murdered TWENTY more victims, experts claim

Notorious serial killer Ivan Milat could have claimed the lives of 20 more victims, including a 20-year-old pregnant woman whose body was dumped in a field, experts have claimed.
Milat murdered seven young backpackers and dumped their bodies in the Belanglo State Forest, south of Sydney, between 1989 and 1992.
He was 74 years old when he died in October 2019 at Long Bay jail s hospital from oesophageal and stomach cancer.
The backpacker murderer will now be the focus of a true crime series airing this weekend on Channel 7, which will reportedly expose new evidence that Milat was responsible for other killings.

Today marks 63 years since the crash of British European Airways flight 609 at Munich-Riem Airport, West Germany, on February 6th, 1958. The accident, which became known as the Munich Air Disaster, occurred as the flight attempted to depart in snowy conditions. Alongside the enormous tragedy of the crash, in which more than half the occupants perished, the disaster also marked a turning point in post-war British-German relations.
