Organizers of a home for transitional living are accusing the Omaha City Council of discrimination after the council denied their request for a permit.
Tracy Dunn said she's lost almost everything, including memories of her late son. "I lost his death certificate. I lost the only picture that I have of him," Dunn said. While she battles multiple health conditions, including lung cancer, Dunn said she's not losing hope.
The American Red Cross has a shelter for displaced residents at Morton Magnet Middle School. They say it will stay open until residents can find long-term temporary housing. Omaha Rapid Response says it will be at the complex starting at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, to help residents.
