MANILA - The Civil Service Commission (CSC) is working on the Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) of Republic Act (RA) 11701 granting a night shift differential pay to government employees. The law states that government employees rendering work beyond their regular schedule between 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. or those who need to put in additional work from 6 p.m. until 6 a.m. of the following day will be qualified for the pay. The night shift differential pay is in addition to and shall not in any way diminish whatever benefits and allowances currently enjoyed by the government employees. In a televised public briefing, CSC commissioner Aileen Lizada said newly elected and appointed officials are oriented about the civil service rules and consequences for violations through local executive forums conducted by regional offices. The forums usually last up to three days.
