mohammed jamjoom is monitoring this from bbeirut. what is the latest? reporter: this is a worg development now. we heard from the red cross. they stated they are not going to release the nationality its of these workers yet, but we are told they had been in italy province since october 10th and they were out in the field trying to deliver medical supplies and they were actually coming back to damascus, that s when they were kidnap. the u.n. and red cross want these people relieved as quickly as possible. these are six members of the aide organization that is a part of the red cross and one volunteer for the syrian read crescent. this took place in an area of syria that has been controlled by rebels the past year, and an area where kidnappings and killings have been quite common. the syrian government believe that armed terrorists are responsible for the kidnapping.
