Yahaya Mohammed, a former Niger State Police Command inspector, was sentenced to two years in prison for stealing and selling an Ak 47 magazine and ammunition to suspected terrorists in the state. The suspect, who was said to be the second-in-command in charge of the armoury department at the state command headquarters, was accused of conspiring to carry out the act alongside Ndaman Gana, an officer in the department. Mohammed was charged with two counts of criminal conspiracy, theft, and unlawful dealing in the sale of an AK-47 magazine and ammo.
