August 4, 2021 ISLAMABAD: In a rebuttal to the contents of the story published on July 29 based on the letter of SNGPL’s board of director’s chairperson to Energy Minister Hammad Azhar with headline ‘Fight of SNGPL board with its director reached Energy Ministry’, Director Ahmad Aqeel has said causing loss to the national exchequer is a bold statement and a concocted allegation by Ms Roohi Khan, Chairperson of SNGPL’s board of directors, and certain directors against whom he has filed complaints in the SECP and OGRA. 56th annual general meeting of SNGPL shareholders held

Daily Times July 31, 2021 The 56th annual general meeting of shareholders of Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) was held on Thursday which approved Annual Accounts for the FY 2019-20 with profit after tax of Rs5,998 million translating into Earning Per Share (EPS) of Rs9.46. The shareholders also approved Cash Dividend of 40pc i.e. Rs4.0 per share on the recommendations of the Board of Directors of the SNGPL, said a press release. Moreover, the shareholders re-appointed M/s Yousaf Adil, Chartered Accountant as Auditors for FY 2020-21. The chairperson, Roohi Raees Khan, informed the shareholders that despite numerous economic and financial challenges, the SNGPL remained focused on yielding good results under the wise guidance of the board of directors along with consistent efforts of the management and staff. She added that the company declared the dividend for the third consecutive year.

Fight between SNGPL BoD and director reaches energy ministry July 29, 2021 ISLAMABAD: In a rare move, the chairperson of SNGPL’s board of directors has brought into the notice of Energy Ministry the alleged questionable role of company’s director Ahmad Aqeel, who has emerged “as a saboteur” in all board proceedings just to save his skin in the ongoing probe into his Related Party Transactions (RPT). In a letter written on July 15, 2021 by Ms Roohi Raees Khan, Chairperson of SNGPL board of directors (BoDs), to Federal Energy Minister Hammad Azhar, she mentioned that the Board Audit Committee (BAC) has made serious observations on the dealings of Director Ahmad Aqeel, who has been on the SNGPL Board for the last 10 years. He is a proxy holder of a large business group, and is a director on the boards of many companies of the said business group.
