Residents of Mgbala Agwa Autonomous Community in the Oguta Local Government Area of Imo State have lamented that they have been gripped by fear and uncertainty as bandits continue to terrorise the area for over a decade, leaving them in a state of despair.  The residents who lamented that the once peaceful agrarian community has been under siege, with incessant armed attacks, looting, and violence becoming all too common, decried the government and the police's lack of adequate response to criminal activities going on in the community.

Tension In Imo State Community As Gunmen Kidnap Traditional Ruler

There is panic in Owerri town over the kidnapping of Eze Jewel Ndenkwo, a famous traditional ruler in Imo state. He was kidnapped in front of one of his businesses in Owerri, the state capital, around 7pm on Friday, Daily Trust reports. The kidnapped monarch is the traditional ruler of Isiala Umudi autonomous community in the state's Nkwerre Local Government Area. He reportedly owns a number of businesses, including Udekings Nigeria Limited. He was allegedly kidnapped in front of his office at Tetlow, Owerri.
