The Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) s Agriculture Quarantine offices under the Agriculture Affairs Department examined 5,678 consignments weighing 76,694 tonnes of various imported agriculture products across all the customs ports of the country throughout July. Out of these, 28 consignments weighing 32.61 tonnes were destroyed for being infected with various bugs.
The action was taken according to the agriculture quarantine law and regulations.
