Port Taranaki half-yearly results 'pleasing', but repairs will affect full-year profit

A $2m interim dividend has been approved for the 2021 year.
Roper praised the port staff and users’ professionalism during the onset of the coronavirus.
“Covid-19 pandemic highlighted the importance of ports in the supply chain, and their criticality in keeping New Zealand business and industry moving,” Roper said.
“As border-facing facilities, ports have been required to implement strict health and safety measures, including regular Covid-19 testing.”
Roper said the half-year result was “pleasing”, with the largest trade – bulk liquids – down 16 per cent, or 311,000 tonnes, caused by a 20 per cent reduction in methanol trade from the previous half year, and an 11 per cent drop in crude oil. ....
