The court also mentioned the possibility of setting an age limit of either 21 or 18, aligning with the age when individuals gain the right to vote.
The High Court of Karnataka has suggested the introduction of an age limit for using social media, similar to the legal drinking age. The court made this observation while hearing an appeal by X Corp (formerly Twitter) challenging the takedown orders issued by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. The court also imposed a cost of Rs 50 lakh on X Corp.
