Bay storage facility. Theyre ensuring hot spots dont reignite the fire today. It happened at fremont mini storage at industrial parkway off of 880 near the tesla factory. 40 units were damaged, 18 of those were heavily damaged. The fire ignited around 8 45 last night. Officials say it went quickly because of highly flammable contents that were inside the storage unit. We had to do forceable entry on all those units. Imagine 40 garage doors that we had to use rotary saws to get them open one at a time. Wow. Well, this morning firefighters are inspecting every unit to make sure no one was living inside. Mechanical problems could be what caused a singleengine plane to crash into an intersection in the east bay. It happened yesterday afternoon in concord. The pilot of the singleengine plane was trying to land at buchanan airport when it went down nearby at the intersection of marsh road and solano way. The ntsb and the faa will do their investigation. It typically takes six, nine months. T

Now at 11 00 this endangered blue whale is beached on the coast tonight and initial investigation shows it may have been struck by a ship. The whale washed up on agate beach in bolinas just north of stinson beach. More now from veronica de la cruz. The blue whale carcass is nearly 80 feet long and is described as a subadult female. The Marin Mammal Center said it first got reports last night about a carcass floating near the shoreline and by this morning it was on the beach. Scientists from the Mammal Center took samples from the skin and blubber and plan to go back out to the beach tomorrow to do a complete necropsy with help from the California Academy of sciences. Thats when theyll be able to determine if a ship strike was the cause of death. Photographs provide another perspective on just how large this whale is. Distinctive markings indicate that this is the same whale spotted a dozen times off the coast since 1999. Tonight a federal official at noaa issued a warning a the recreat

He says his instincts kicked in when the familys house caught fire. He says quick thinking and determination helped rescue his younger brother.
