ArenaFan Originals - SaberCats Bite Sharply Into Arizona's Perfect Record, 62-33

Griffin Aseltine
Saturday June 28, 2014
Coming into Friday night’s matchup between bitter rivals from both historical and modern perspectives, playoff implications were hardly in the discussion of what was on the line. With both the Rattlers and the SaberCats already punching in their tickets to the postseason, revenge, momentum, and perfection represented the true elements of what was really at stake. Before this shocker unfolded, the Arizona Rattlers held a 14-0 record and had a favorable chance at being the first Arena Football League franchise to drive through a full year undefeated.
Now, the chances of single-season history being made have completely vanished, as the archrivals from San Jose have shattered the streak with an unbelievable and unexpected victory. After dropping a 57-51 heartbreaker at home to the Rattlers early on in the season, the SaberCats managed to turn the tables around on Friday night and do the unthinkable, jumping to a 41-7 lead at halfti ....

ArenaFan Originals - Shock Hang On, Win Thriller Over Rush

Jeffrey Giuliani
Friday August 2, 2013
Thursday evening’s playoff game between the Spokane Shock and Chicago Rush was a tale of two different halves. The first half was a gritty half, with defenses stepping up and quarterbacks getting thrown around like ragdolls. On the flip side, the second half was an offensive shootout, where scoring was effortless and the scoreboard was lighting up like a pinball machine. In the end, it was the Shock who triumphed over the gutsy Rush by a score of 69-47, not at all indicative of how close the game really was.
The first half of action was filled with huge defensive plays. After trading opening possession touchdowns, quarterback Erik Meyer was crushed from behind and fumbled the football. Chicago recovered and scored, taking a 13-7 lead. Spokane would get a chance to retake the lead later after Rush QB Luke Drone was intercepted by Terrance Sanders. But once again, Chicago’s defense held strong and Spokane turned the ball over on ....

ArenaFan Originals - Mustangs to turn back the clock against Soul

Tim Capper
Thursday June 7, 2012
Throwback uniforms are all the craze in professional sports. It seems that no matter how bad a uniform set was, if a team is looking for something unique to wear, you can be guaranteed it will make an appearance.  If the throwbacks are that popular, they will continue to be used again and again.
This weekend, the Milwaukee Mustangs are taking a ride on the throwback uniform bandwagon. They will be looking to the team’s past for this week’s game versus the Philadelphia Soul. The Mustangs are to become the first Arena Football League team to wear throwback uniforms. The uniforms will be from their teal and purple era (1994-2001). ....
