Jeffrey Giuliani Tuesday April 30, 2013 Excluding the 1972 Miami Dolphins, it appears that you can’t win them all. The Spokane Shock dropped their first game of the season to the Tampa Bay Storm by a score of 70-62. Although an admirable effort in the second half kept things close, the hole dug by Spokane in the first half was too deep to escape.
Tampa Bay gained control of the contest early. Storm quarterback Adrian McPherson took five minutes off the clock in the game’s opening drive, capping it off with a touchdown. The rowdy Spokane Shock fans expected a quick answer. It didn’t come. Erik Meyer threw his first interception of the season, a ball that bounced around before being corralled by Storm DB Jean Fanor. Tampa Bay would take advantage of the blunder, taking a 14-0 lead late in the 1 ....

Adam Markowitz Wednesday May 23, 2012 It was just another normal Wednesday morning for the Tampa Bay Storm, as they were out on the practice field preparing for Saturday night s crucial tilt with the Milwaukee Mustangs. However, news that transpired some 1,400 miles away might have changed the team s entire season without it even knowing it. The Green Bay Packers have released QB Nick Hill from their roster, which could pave the way for the return of the man that was supposed to be the leader of the Storm in 2012. Hill was signed by the Storm in the offseason to bring some stability to the quarterback position that was a nightmare in 2011. Tampa Bay used five different quarterbacks, all of which took their turn as a starter, and that didn t even include QB Jevan Snead, who started the team s exhibition before getting released prior to the start of the regular season. Hill would be starting his third year playing in the AFL after two successful years with the Orlando Pr ....
And now. the moment that you all have been waiting for. The Week 7 Dubious Distinctions! The Sparky McEwen Bonehead Coaching Move of the Week: Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz Head Coach Sparky McEwen successfully ran the Grand Rampage into the ground for three seasons, finishing 13-35 and drawing the ire of many across the state of Michigan. This award will be handed out to the head coach who displayed the most ineptitude for the week. And the award goes to. Ernesto Purnsley, Utah Blaze: I mean, really. Really. I may have to rename this award. Coach, I understand that you left play calling at the end of your game against the Milwaukee Iron up to one of your coordinators, but ultimately, if they screw up, you take the fall. The Blaze had every chance in the world to pull the biggest upset of the season and beat the Iron, but somehow, they snapped defeat from the jaws of victory. With the game tied at 48 with 0:55 to play facing 3rd down and goal to go with neither team h ....
Jonah Rosenblum Sunday July 6, 2014 CLEVELAND - From the outset, the Gladiators had the advantage. They just struggled to leave a struggling Portland team behind. In what seemed an eternally-lasting, one-score game, the Gladiators finally separated early in the fourth quarter. And all in a matter of minutes. LaRoche Jackson easily took a kick back for a 41-34 lead. On Portland s ensuing drive, fellow Cleveland defensive back Joe Phinisee saved Dominic Jones, who dropped an easy third-down pick, by swooping in front of Kyle Rowley s fourth-down pass. Jones said it exemplified a year-long Cleveland philosophy: I got the next one. One play later, Austin found Dominick Goodman on the right sideline, and as he cut in and crossed the goal line, an exhausted Quicken Loans Arena let out a collective sigh of relief. ....
