In the city and county department will also embrace this. So thankfully the balboa reservoir project heard us loud and clear from the Community Members and will be a reflection of the desire to retain, attract and nurture the next generation of san franciscans. The project will have two and three bedroom units and other amenities including open space play areas a child care facility and indoor and outdoor common areas for events. Overall i believe the project is thoughtful and includes many of the elements and that the community is able to see if two acre park that will be central to the project and pedestrian walkways and bike lanes connecting the neighborhoods to ocean avenue corridor. Complimentary design to reflect the existing neighborhoods and to promote existing businesses and with the commercial district and we are work on fine details of the neighborhood and C ....

Our overall Housing Production targets. We have struggled in the past coming in with less than half of this number of affordable units as well as lower level of production of housing overall. I wanted to add that we did not exam whether these targets were the perfect targets or acknowledging we have struggled to meet these targets in the past. We wanted to look at policy and investment to allow us to meet these at minimum and leave that discussion open to the public and policymakers about whether different targets should be pursued in the future. One of the key policy issues we explored was where new housing would be added and what it would look like. Initial analysis showed that we do need to add additional capacity for housing to be able to sustain the level of production at 5,000 units over the 30 year timeframe. What this map that you are looking at shows is our past reductions since 2005 in pink. The pipeline is shown in ....

Balboa reservoir project. If we look at what the current status quo is swr have a massive parking lot across from a mini mart. Be spent years coming up with a proposed solution that would have over a thousand homes, half of which will affordable and subsidized. If you look at where these people may be currently living some of them may be crouc may cd make a life here. I strongly support this project. The only possible thing that could be improved is to have even more housing here and future similar projects. Thank you. thank you for your comment. Can we have the next speaker, please. hi. Im the chair of the balboa reservoir committee. Good evening supervis superviso. Theres been a lot of community out reach and workshops. Its led to a lot o of community benefits. We do as a city, as you all know, have an obligation for affirmatively fair housing. This developers have bottom lines to deliver for investors. They can be pressured to provide affordable minutes to make concessions regarding labor practices. At the end of the day it is this balance and this discussion that is at the heart of whether we are furthering fair housing or not. When we are having the neighborhood around 80 of the units unaffordable to working class units disproportionatesly available to white folks. We are taking steps backwards. I appreciate your work on this. We are in a point of urgency on so many fronts. Thank you for your time put into this. I appreciate it. This is one of the most robust discussions i have had and i want to thank Planning Department staff for signaling a new direction. Thank you, miriam and your colleagues. I want to say a couple things. One of them is a policy desire. I think it is low hang ....

Working on planning trees as volunteers, you are part of different boards or different organizations ar advocating for trees and we are the end of the line at board of appeals. We dont make policy. We consider whether or not they issue permits that the city has put in place have been properly followed. Thats really where we are and so working with your supervisors organizing quite frankly, to make this remain a priority, obviously theyre taxed to with the covid19 response so being respectful and tactical and strategic about what you are advocate forgeron that being said, the Climate Crisis continues and other things continue as covid19 might be in the forefront so keep organizing and keep working with the board of supervisors and put your treasure there for legislative change and fixes that can help. Folks like mr. Buck and others to have the tools and resources they need to implement the policy thats will hopefully protect our ca ....
