I think its time we took a magnifying glass to the way this administration spends money because we share your concerns about the money. We had and i think we need to go to the highest levels to look at this. So we are told students of color will be helped by these cuts, but we have been hearing that is not the case. When i look across my classroom, which is always full, i have 25 students in a small ceramics studio, and i turned away at least that many that wanted to take the class. I see a lot of black hair. I mostly see black hair when i look out across my classroom, and some grey hair. We are an ethnically Diverse College and we know it. Nobody needs to even prove that. We know that is true, and yet t

It gets our blood flowing and our heart beating harder to do better and compete harder. Were at an educational moment where now we realize that with 330 million people, weve got this opportunity through the diversity of our population to really become something that no one else has ever become before, which is this highly educated, highly adaptive, highly creative population thats come in from everywhere around the world and can do things that are just off the charts. And im here on behalf of my friends and neighbors and as a board member of the Bay Area Housing Advocacy Coalition to thank supervisor brown for her Wonderful Service for district 5. She has always led with her heart and with her head as a pragmatic progressive. We are so thankful for everything shes done for our district, for district 5 and advocating for the people who are most vulnerable in securing Affordable Housing for those who need it and honestly, every weekend and weeknight, just picking up the trash and cleaning up graffiti, talking with everybody and really making connections with everybody in our district.
