Residents in Ashdeane Village, Black Rock, St Michael, say they never expected one of their own to be gunned down, far less during the Christmas holidays.
But on Sunday night, Adrian Noel Gibson, also known as “Biscuit”, was attacked just outside the home he shared with his girlfriend and 11-year-old son. His killing has brought the number for the year to 40.
Police reported he was shot about 9:15 p.m. but was pronounced dead after being taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital by ambulance.
Kerry-Ann Bridgeman, who lives in the area, described the mechanic as a father figure, adding she was hurting following Gibson’s death. ....

Minutes before he took his last breath, Barbados’ latest murder victim, 47-year-old Adrian Noel Gibson, told residents that masked men had shot him during an attempted robbery.
Requesting anonymity, one resident told the media that the hardworking mechanic managed to get the words out before dying on his way for medical attention.
“He told me them did mask up and them come to rob he. He passed away on the way to the hospital. We were there trying to help him. At first, he tell me he get shoot in his hip, but I didn’t know he get shoot in the back too, because I would have snatch he up and carry he to the hospital,” the resident said. ....

Police have identified a man shot at Ashdeane Village, Black Rock, St Michael on Sunday as 47-year-old Adrian Noel Gibson.
Lawmen launched an unnatural death investigation after Gibson was fatally shot around 9:15 p.m. near his residence at Ashdeane Village.
Officers received a call which indicated that a man was shot and injured near his home.
On arrival, lawmen discovered the injured man who was quickly taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital by ambulance, where he was pronounced dead, according to a media statement.
