When I first read about Brisbane startup Octopus Deploy’s $223 million capital raising from Insight Venture Partners, my emotions were humility and horror. So much for my deep connection to Aussie tech – I’d never even heard of them.
I was only slightly consoled to discover that many others were similarly humbled.
Octopus Deploy’s Paul and Sonia Stovell preferred the track record and US network of Insight Partners over Aussie VC funds that would have liked to invest in them.  ....
