In February, Adrian Brinzila and his family quietly opened the first Moldovan restaurant in Seattle, and, he says, in the entire western half of the country.
Me Dor took over the Belltown location vacated by the closure of beloved brunch spot Boat Street Kitchen in February and serves a full menu of food from Moldova and Romania “we are brothers,” Brinzila says of the two cuisines tinged with a modern outlook from Brinzila, his parents and his partner, Djamelia Turcanu.
Since immigrating to Seattle almost nine years ago, Brinzila’s parents have run a trucking company and his father still drives trucks. Brinzila, too, worked for that family business, before deciding to create a new one and introduce Seattleites to the sour, herby, meaty flavors of his home country. ....
