Long Beach Conducts Mobile COVID-19 Vaccine Clinics At 3 Parks – NBC Los Angeles

Long Beach will operate COVID-19 vaccination clinics at three parks this week, and continuing until further notice, in an effort to reach areas of the city with the highest case rates.
The clinics will offer vaccinations without advance appointments, and they are open to anyone who lives or works in Long Beach.

Our mobile clinics allow us to bring the vaccine out and into the community, especially to areas most impacted by the pandemic, Mayor Robert Garcia said. These additional mobile vaccination clinics is one of the many ways we are ensuring equitable vaccine distribution here in Long Beach. ....

Drive-thru food distribution scheduled Saturday in West Long Beach • Long Beach Post News

Those in need of free food can swing by West Long Beach during a drive-thru food distribution event this Saturday morning.
Starting at 11 a.m. on March 13, Good News Church, Tikkun Worldwide Charity, and council members Mary Zendejas and Roberto Uranga are teaming up to host the event at Admiral Kidd Park (2125 Santa Fe Ave.) where the public can drive up and have boxes of food loaded inside the trunks or back seats of their vehicles, according to officials. Masks are required.

Many events took place last week to collect donations. Some of the giveaways highlighted here are drive-up only while some are intended for families without cars. Social distancing and masks are required at the events.
Thursday
Drive-up food giveaway: Cabrillo High School, 2001 Santa Fe Ave., from 9 a.m. to noon (Cars may line up at 8:30 a.m.). Long Beach and Los Angeles County officials as well as other community groups will host the food giveaway.
Walk-up food giveaway: Admiral Kidd Park, 2125 Santa Fe Ave., at 9 a.m. Food boxes will be provided for local residents who do not have access to a vehicle or cannot drive there. ....
