Confirming this, Dr Parimala V Thirumalesh (Senior Consultant - Neonatology and Paediatrics), Aster CMI Hospital, said, “Over the last few weeks, we have noticed an increase in high-grade fever that is associated with common flu and dengue. On an average, 40-50 children per week are being brought with high fever as high as 104 to 105 Degrees in some cases. This trend is being observed post-pandemic. We are yet to ascertain the reason for the spike and why the inflammatory response is so high.” ....
