The suspects Four kidnappers have been arrested by operatives of Ogun State Police Command in connection with the abduction of a 13-year-old girl in the Onipanu area of Ado Odo-Ota Local Government Area of the state. The suspects, John Nelson, Adeleke Ayotunde, Adekunle Basit and Abey Fagbemi, were arrested following a complaint lodged at the Onipanu Police station by one Adejunwon Odunowo, who reported that her daughter, Susan Odunowo, who was sent on an errand by her mother at about 6:30p.m. on May 6, 2021, did not return home. He claimed in his report that he later received an anonymous phone call, where the sum of N500,000 was demanded as a ransom if he wanted to see his daughter again.

The police in Ogun State say they have rescued a 13-year-old from a kidnappers’ den and arrested four members of the syndicate for allegedly kidnapping the teenager and demanding a N500, 000 ransom from her father.
The incident happened last week Thursday in the Onipanu area of Ado-Odo Ota local government area.
The
Ogun police spokesperson, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the suspects were arrested following a missing person report filed by the father of the victim.
The 13-year-old victim was also rescued from a room owned by one of the suspects.
“A complaint (was) lodged at Onipanu divisional headquarters, by one Adejunwon Odunowo, who reported that, her (his) 13yrs old daughter, Susan Odunowo, was sent on an errand by her mother at about 6:30 p.m. of 6th of May 2021, but didn’t return home.

Six kidnap kingpins responsible for kidnappings in Gwagwalada and Kwali Council Areas of Abuja, the Nigeria capital, have been arrested.
Security agencies consider the arrest a major breakthrough in the fight against insecurity in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The Police Command, according to PRNigeria, arrested the suspects at different locations after intelligence gathering.
A senior operative involved in the operation, disclosed that the dens the criminals keep hostages pending payment of ransom were also discovered.
“After undertaking surveillance and intelligence gathering, the special anti-kidnapping squad of the police command successfully arrested six suspects”, the officer said.

The National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has said that no fewer than 89 suspected drugs peddlers have been arrested in Kaduna State between January and May.
The state NDLEA Commander, Iyke-Uche Samuel, made the disclosure at a news conference on Tuesday in Kaduna, NAN reports.
Samuel said the operatives seized 1,721.508kg of drugs and other illicit substances within the period under review.
According to him, NDLEA operatives arrested 23 suspected drug dealers in January, 21 in February, 18 in March, 22 in April and five in May.
The commander listed the drugs seized from the suspects to include Indian hemp, Tramadol, Cocaine, Heroin and other Psychotropic substances.

The Ogun State Police Command has apprehended four men for reportedly kidnapping a 13-year-old girl in Onipanu, Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of the state.
The four suspects were identified by the police as; 21-year-old John Nelson, 29-year-old Adeleke Ayotunde, 20-year-old Adekunle Basit and Abey Fagbemi, who is 20.
DAILY POST learnt that their arrest followed a complaint lodged by one Adejunwon Odunowo at Onipanu police station.
Odunowo had told the police that his daughter, Susan Odunowo, was sent on an errand by her mum at about 6:30 pm on Thursday, but she did not return.
