Negotiations around the release of Israeli women and children held hostage in the Gaza Strip have centered on an exchange for Palestinian women and minors held in Israeli prisons. A leading Palestinian human rights organization has called on the Israeli regime to immediately release cancer-stricken prisoner Walid Daqqa amid his deteriorating health condition.
Currently, Israel holds 4,780 Palestinian in its jails, including 29 women, 160 children and 915 detainees without charges under the "administrative detention" system, according to human rights groups.
