The Oak Grove Town Council has authorized Mayor Adam T. Holland to sign a memorandum of understanding with V1 Fiber to complete a needs assessment study and begin applying for funds to implement affordable broadband internet coverage for all citizens of the town of Oak Grove.
“This is huge for our citizens and our towns future in the 21st Century Economic Environment,” Holland said in a news release. “Reliable access to high-speed internet is equivalent to the interstate highway system and access to rural electric service in the 1950’s. If we want to position ourselves for growth both in population and economic development, we must have the services at 21st Century Employers and future residents need to be successful in their occupations and quality of life expectations.”
