A Wilmington-based builder of houses, townhomes and apartments recently closed on a 130-acre tract on Sidbury Road along the New Hanover County and Pender County line, planning to eventually own more than 1,200 acres in southern Pender for future development.
The 1,200 acres could hold up to 5,000 for-rent and for-sale residential units built over the next 10 years.
McAdams Homes paid $1.5 million to Blakes of Scotts Hill LLC for the 130 acres, the second recent Sidbury Road transaction for the company. A small portion of the land is in New Hanover County. ....

Dawsonville City Council approves construction of 67 homes in Thunder Ridge development
On Jan. 4, the Dawsonville City Council approved the final plat of Phase 1 of the Thunder Ridge development, which will allow for the construction of 67 new homes.

At the Jan. 4 meeting of the Dawsonville City Council, council members approved the final plat of the Thunder Ridge Phase 1 development, which will allow for the construction of 67 new homes. 
According to David Picklesimer, Planning Director for the city of Dawsonville, the Thunder Ridge project has been underway since 2017, when LCG Residential LLC purchased a total of 137.42 acres of land, equaling 217 residential lots within the city limits. LCG Residential agreed to a density of 1.58 units per acre and a proposed house size of 1600 square feet.  ....
