SHELDON—Two years after it broke ground on Building H, Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon celebrated the future decades of its health sciences facility Thursday, April 27.

SHELDONâThereâs a new leader at the helm of Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon as it looks to continue its expansion in future years.
John Hartog was named college president Monday evening, Feb. 22, after the NCC board of trustees voted unanimously to promote him from his previous position as vice president of student and academic services, which he has held since 2011.
âWe know who we are; we have a long-standing track record of excellence and quality,â Hartog said in his first address to the board. âWe have a rich heritage as a technical college, and that will continue to thrive in years to come. We are also a comprehensive community college, so we look how to enhance the non-technical side of the college.â

Sheldon, Iowa In a unanimous decision the Northwest Iowa Community College Board of Trustees approved the hiring of Dr. John Hartog III of Boyden, Iowa as the 10
th president of NCC. The decision was announced during the Board’s regularly scheduled meeting Monday, February 22.
Dr. Hartog is the current NCC Vice President for Student & Academic Services, a position he has held since 2011. Prior to that, he had served as President of Faith Baptist College and Seminary, Ankeny, Iowa. Over the course of his 18 years at Faith Baptist, he held a variety of other administrative roles including that of a Program Director, the Dean of the Seminary, the Academic Vice President, and the Provost.
