Daniel Mark Wright, 47, entered a 7-Eleven in Lehi wearing a jacket with the words “Sheriff’s Deputy” on the back. He then proceeded to shoplift a donut, an act which did not go unnoticed by one of the store’s clerk. KUTV reports that Lehi police were notified of the man’s thievery, and were told that he had left the convenience store in a white Ford truck. Officers were then able to track down the truck’s location by observing surveillance video footage, eventually finding it in a motel parking lot. ....
SALT LAKE CITY Police have arrested a man who they say fled a fatal hit-and-run accident, was found later in a stolen vehicle, and escaped custody while in the hospital after ingesting drugs. Adalberto Ozeta, 30, was wanted in connection with a Jan. 8 fatal hit-and-run and multiple other warrants, including felony theft and fraud, according to a probable cause affidavit. Police officers were pursuing a stolen vehicle on Jan. 16 and attempted to stop the vehicle. The car drove into oncoming traffic on Redwood Road and officers stopped the pursuit for safety reasons. Officers were able to keep an eye on the stolen car until a helicopter continued the pursuit, according to court documents. Ozeta continued fleeing on Redwood Road, running red lights and reaching speeds of more than 100 mph. ....
