Duterte expects PH to reach Covid-19 vaccination goals by yearend

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte (File photo) MANILA - With the launch of the country's three-day nationwide vaccination drive, President Rodrigo Duterte expects the Philippines to achieve its coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccination target before the end of the year. "By the end of 2021, we expect to fully vaccinate a total of 54 million Filipinos; we also aim to inoculate 80 percent of the population of minors aged 12 to 17 years; and complete the booster shots for those belonging to A1, A2, and A3 sectors," Duterte said in his speech during the launch of the three-day national vaccination event, dubbed "Bayanihan, Bakunahan" held in SM Masinag, Antipolo City, Rizal. Bayanihan, Bakunahan, which will run from November 29 to December 1, aims to vaccinate around 9 million individuals in 8,000 sites across 16 regions nationwide.
