The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) has denied AgLogic Chemical LLC’s state pesticide registration application for the pesticide aldicarb on citrus crops in Florida. The pesticide registrant’s application failed to comply with requirements of federal law, according to the state agency.

“While there are promising new horizons for fighting citrus greening, like recent breakthroughs at UF/IFAS on genetic resistance, aldicarb poses an unacceptable risk to human, animal, and environmental health in Florida, is one of the world’s most toxic pesticides, and is banned in more than 100 countries,” says Florida Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried. “The registrant’s application does not meet the requirements of state law, and we must therefore deny the registration of aldicarb for use in the State of Flo ....

Florida agriculture officials ban citrus pesticide approved near end of Trump administration
Florida agriculture officials on Wednesday announced that that the insecticide aldicarb approved in January by the administration of President Donald Trump for use on citrus will remain banned in Florida.
The details: Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried said her department is denying the pesticide application of AgLogic Chemical LLC, which

FDACS Issues Denial of Aldicarb Pesticide Usage Application in Florida

Today, the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services denied AgLogic Chemical LLC’s state pesticide registration application for the pesticide aldicarb on citrus crops in the state of Florida. The pesticide registrant’s application failed to comply with requirements of federal law, specifically Section 7(a)(2) of 16 U.S.C. § 1536(a)(2), and therefore does not meet the requirements of Florida state law, specifically 487.041(2), Florida Statutes.
