NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - No. 23 Southeastern Louisiana forced four McNeese turnovers – including three in the fourth quarter – on the way to a 25-20 victory in Southland Conference football action Saturday night in Strawberry Stadium.
Playing at home for the first time in 461 days, the Lions (1-1, 1-1 Southland) clinched the victory with a forced fumble by Ferlando Jordan that was pounced on right before it went out of bounds by Alexis Ramos inside the SLU five-yard line, as McNeese (1-2, 0-2 Southland) was driving for a potential go-ahead score. ....

HAMMOND – McNeese went toe-to-toe with 23rd-ranked Southeastern Louisiana on Saturday night, and was driving for the possible winning touchdown with under three minutes to play before turning the ball over at the 4-yard line. The Lions went on to run out the rest of the clock to escape with a 25-20 Southland Conference victory.
Trailing 25-20 following a 33-yard field goal by SLU’s Mateo Rengifo with 9:19 to play, the Cowboys (1-2, 0-2) began their drive for the win at its own 25-yard line. ....

LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - McNeese’s return to Cowboy Stadium wasn’t what it was hoped to be as Incarnate Word quarterback Cameron Ward led his team to a 48-20 win over the No. 19 Cowboys in the Southland Conference opener for both teams in front of a COVID restricted crowd of 2,394.
Ward completed 24 of 35 passes for 306 yards and four touchdowns while the Cardinals got a 100-yard kickoff return by Ce’Cori Tolds after McNeese cut the UIW lead to 10-3 early in the first. ....
