(WWNY) - This school year, we’ve been honor senior student athletes who have put together impressive varsity careers. Whether its been for Bob Bice at Hermon De Kalb or Alicia Countryman for the North Country Misfits, this softball player has been performing at a high level. Her performance on the diamond earning her this week’s title. Brianna Grant has put together an impressive varsity career with a 516 career bating average, a .602 on base percentage and on the mound, she’s recorded 280 strikeouts and counting. Brianna’s been a first and second team All-Northern performer, an Athlete of Distinction for soccer. ....
Wednesday, May 12, 2021 - 11:45 am PARISHVILLE – Twin sisters at Parishville-Hopkinton Central School have been named valedictorian and salutatorian for the 2020-2021 school. Emma and Kelly, daughters of Michael and Kristine Bloom, were named valeditorian and salutatorian, respectively. Both girls have attended PHCS for the entirety of their primary and secondary education. Emma will graduate with an Advanced Designation Regents Diploma with Honors and Mastery in Mathematics and Science with local majors in English, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Spanish, and Technology.Emma has been on High Honor Roll every year since 7th grade. She has been a member of the National Honors Society since 9th grade, serving as the Society’s president this year. ....
Tuesday, May 11, 2021 - 9:02 am MADRID The Madrid-Waddington Central School has announced its class leaders of the graduating class of 2020-2021. These students have achieved the designation of Cum Laude with distinction and Magna Cum Laude with great distinction , and Summa Cum Laude with highest distraction having a grade point average of 90, 93 or 95 or better respectively. CUM LAUDE Benjamin Averill, son of Carla and Matt Averill, plans to attend SUNY Oswego, majoring in Zoology and has earned the Presidential Scholarship. While attending MWCS, Averill participated in chorus, Stardust singing group, select choir, drama club, varsity club and is a member of the National Honor Society. He also demonstrated great leadership skills while playing soccer, hockey, baseball and working a part time job. Averill earned an Advanced Regents diploma with mastery in science. ....
