CUMILLA, May 13, 2021 (BSS) – A total of 300 COVID-19 pandemic affected poor, helpless, jobless and distressed families in Homna municipality of the district received Taka 500 in cash each on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr as a gift from Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today.
Member of Parliament Selima Ahmad Meri of Comilla-2 (Homna-Titas) constituency handed over the cash Taka at Homna municipality office as the chief guest this morning.

A Cumilla court yesterday sent four men to jail on charge of gang-raping a mentally challenged woman in the district s Homna upazila.
The accused are Hasan, 27, Rassel ,20, Yousuf alias Badsha ,25, and Sohag,16, all from Charkuria of Asadpur in the upazila.
Abul Kayes Akand, officer-in-charge of Homna Police Station, said all four of them were on Saturday, after the victim s family filed a complaint.
According to local sources, the alleged rapists went to a village arbitration to conceal the incident. On information, police intervened and conducted drives to arrest the miscreants. ....

Four people were sent to jail today in a case filed over the gang-rape of a woman with a mental disability in Homna upazila of Cumilla.
The four arrestees are Hasan, 27, Rassel, 20, Yousuf alias Badsha, 25, and Sohag, 16, of Homna upazila, said Abul Kayes Akand, officer-in-charge of Homna Police Station.
All four were arrested from their homes after a case was filed against them with the station, he said.
They were sent to jail by Cumilla district court today, our Cumilla correspondent reports, quoting the police official. ....
