Apart from the Skyway Stage 3 being open for free during the holiday season, Secretary Mark Villar of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) temporarily opens the new and improved Subic Freeport Expressway (SFEX) to all motorists, specifically until January 15, 2021. The newly-constructed road was made operational last December 28 last year. Built-in 1996, the SFEX stretched by about 8.2 km. Currently, the P1.6-billion-peso expansion project is now 92% complete with the remaining touches to be rendered by the first quarter of 2021. Villar believes that this road should be beneficial for those motorists who are to travel during the holiday season. While there are still works to be done in some areas, we are temporarily opening the new road to ease the travel of our motorists this holiday season, especially the truckers and merchants who are delivering essential goods. ....
