Police said the man was passed out at the pumps at 2:44 a.m. on Sunday morning. He was later identified as 25-year-old Abel Saldana of Garden Grove, Calif. Saldana was a convicted felon. ....
Police: Drug dog helps pull down heroin, stolen gun, 5 pounds of meth Redding police dog Chase played a role in two drug busts this weekend that led officers to confiscate a stolen pistol, heroin and more than 5 pounds of methamphetamine. The first incident happened shortly after 7 p.m. Saturday when police were called to a reported reckless driver in the area of Interstate 5 and Cypress Avenue, according to Redding police. Officers contacted the driver in the parking lot of the Taco Bell at 2610 Hilltop Drive. Police said the driver, Carl Sanchez, 62, of Sacramento was acting suspicious so the officer at the scene sent in Chase to search for narcotics in Sanchez’s vehicle, police said. ....
