More than 50 communities across B.C. set records for extreme heat on Sunday, spurring a rash of health warnings and leaving residents struggling for ways to cope.

The village of Lytton in the southwest Interior hit 46.2 degrees Celsius by late afternoon on Sunday, the highest temperature ever recorded in Canada, previously set on July 5, 1937 when the Saskatchewan towns of Midale and Yellow Grass hit 45 C. Lytton is expected to hit 46 C on Monday and as high as 47 C on Tuesday. ....
