MADRID (Reuters) -Zara-owner Inditex said on Wednesday its sales jumped 11% in constant currency for the first-half of the spring season between Feb. 1 and March 11, after the Spanish fashion giant surpassed main rival H&M's annual sales growth. Inditex widened its lead over Swedish retailer H&M, thanks to its ability to deliver fashion trends faster from nearby suppliers and sell more clothes at higher prices to upmarket shoppers. In January, H&M reported a 4% drop in December and January sales, a bad sign for the key Christmas shopping period.
