slope of more money heading to sacramento. they voted to keep its redevelopment agency going. that is a key component and a plan to build a new 49er stadium but the city would have to contribute $11.2 million this year to the state and $2.5 million each year after. the reason for that is keeping the redevelopment agency alive would allow something san quentin to come up with cash to reimburse the 49ers for the team s $40 million advance to get the stadium built. the project is expected to run $1 billion. we are going to save hundreds of millions of dollars by going with the staff recommendation and opt for the redevelopment agency. we will protect our libraries, affordable housing and stadium project that is a huge economic future in santa clara. we are supporting private enterprise with public money, public money should be used for the public not to support the san francisco 49ers. mr. mayor committed that it would cost us nothing. now it s costing millions. reporter:
